Fares Nigim is a physician scientist in the field of neurology and cancer biology. He is currently an Associate Medical Director of Translational Medicine and Clinical Development at Vertex Pharmaceuticals, and an Attending Physician at Tufts Medical Center. Dr. Nigim is the Co-Founder of Ilios Therapeutics, and currently serves as an advisor as the company performs its pre-clinical studies.

Dr. Nigim began his career in 2012 as a Research Fellow in cancer biology at Harvard Medical School. During this time, he earned his PhD in Cancer Biology, focusing on glioblastoma and meningioma biology, targeted therapy, and oncolytic virus therapy. His lab work and courses were done at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) and Harvard Medical School. Before finishing his Fellowship, Dr. Nigim completed a Neurology residency at UMass Chan Medical School.
